How do I determine what my electricity and water is costing me?
Every time that there is a prepaid top-up to your meter, the Smartzone generates an invoice for that top-up. This invoice is instantly emailed to your registered email account, and a copy is available for you to view or download from the Smartzone.
The invoice shows you exactly what the cost is for every unit that was topped up and it shows you which tariff tier the billing happened on. Every municipality determines its own water and electricity tariffs, and within each municipality different tariffs apply to different categories of consumers. As an example, in the City of Johannesburg the electricity tariff for commercial consumers is different to the tariff for residential consumers, and the tariff for the City of Tshwane for residential consumers is not the same as the City of Johannesburg.
