What are Vend Channel Fees?

Unimet Systems has South Africa's cheapest prepaid vending fees.
We are able to achieve low vending fees by giving our consumers many different options (payment channels) of charging their wallets.
A consumer can charge their wallet by:
  1. Credit Card payment via the SmartZone
  2. Debit Card payment via the SmartZone
  3. Instant EFT (SID) via the SmartZone
  4. Direct EFT to one of our bank accounts
  5. ATM EFT to one of our bank accounts
  6. Cash payment at an ATM
Depending on the payment channel used to add money to a wallet, there are different associated banking fees (what we call channel vending fees). These fees are charged to a consumers wallet.

The cheapest channel to use for funding your wallet is direct EFT.
The most cost effective strategy to ensure the lowest possible channel fees is to do the following:
  1. Make a direct EFT transfer to one of our bank accounts. Please ensure that you pay to an account that corresponds to the bank that you bank with. For example, if your bank with Nedbank, then make an EFT to our Nedbank account.
  2. Calculate how much money you put into your wallet every month. Then pay into your wallet a single payment of that total amount. Banks charge fees according to the number of transactions processed in a bank account. For every EFT you make (regardless of the amount) you will be charged an EFT fee. Therefore it is cheaper to make one EFT payment for the full amount of your monthly spend, than to make many EFT payments over the course of any month.
  3. Please remember to use your correct wallet reference when making a payment. This ensures that our systems can automatically recognise to apply your payment to your wallet.
